Les Brown

Les came to Wickenburg in 2016 after being named the Chief of Police for the Wickenburg Police Department. Prior to coming to Wickenburg, Chief Brown lived in New Mexico where he worked for the Albuquerque Police Department for 23 years. Chief Brown spent time in patrol as a field training officer, bicycle patrol officer, drug recognition expert, gang unit detective and emergency response team.

Chief Brown promoted to Sergeant in 1999, Lieutenant in 2006 and then Commander in July 2013 where he oversaw the Special Investigations Division which included the supervision and training of over 90 personnel and a budget of $3 million dollars.

Chief Brown received his Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Boston University and is a graduate of the 340th class of the Northwestern School of Staff and Command.

Chief Brown is married to his wife Jennifer and they raised three children together, one of which followed in his father’s footsteps, becoming a police officer for the City of Surprise. Chief Brown joined the Wickenburg 100 Club, Inc. in 2016 and recently was appointed as President in January 2019 after the retirement of founders Bob & Victoria Nuth.
